It is with great pleasure that I accept the opportunity to work with your
children in grade 4. I have previously taught at the grade 4 and 5 levels,
and in a 4/5 combined classroom with the Lethbridge School District. Prior
to this, I taught middle and high school in the Palliser School District. My
wife is also a teacher.
My own children are entering grade 11 and university (year 2) this fall, and
both are excited about the move into their new challenges.
Grade 4 is a fun year to teach, with some excellent themes that the students
are sure to enjoy. I tend to stress active learning, a strong work ethic
with an emphasis on improving and expanding literacy and numeracy skills,
and community awareness.
I expect that each student respect each others' right to learn in a safe and
caring environment. Students are expected to work together, not cause
distractions, and to complete all assignments in a timely manner.
Parents are the 3rd stakeholder in the education of their children. I promote
open communication, and I anticipate support and cooperation that will be in
the student's best interest with regards to their educational experiences.
