| Your child will have Saxon Phonics and Math homework every Monday, Tuesday,
and Thursday night. However, your child will be given time to complete the homework in class. From
time to time, your child may also be asked to complete additional assignments. Any additional
assignments will be noted on the weekly newsletter. It is very important that your child read each and
every day. Saxon decodable readers can be used for reading practice as well as library books,
Accelerated Reader books, and books you have at home. The basal story should also be read each
night. Please list the books your child is reading on his or her Book Worm list. (Remember to circle the
number beside the book if it is an AR book.) Students will also need to study for various tests and
quizzes each week. Sight word quizzes and basal comprehension tests will be each Thursday (unless
otherwise noted on the weekly newsletter). Spelling and dictation tests will be on Friday.
