Reading - The Second Nine Weeks
We are working on completing the STAR tests.We are still
keeping these papers in the clear plastic sleeve in
your child's binder. This way we all have access to the sheet
without having to look it up each time.
*We will re-test using the STAR test each nine weeks.
*We will be doing two book reports this nine weeks. This
sounds difficult but it is not so bad. Please do not
put these book reports in a cover. They will be due
November 18 and December 9.
These book reports should each be on one
notebook page. It can be front and back.
The book reports must be handwritten by the student. The
student may write on the back of the paper.
The book reports will be read aloud in class. The
books chosen for this are the student's choice.
I am trying to encourage the students to read and enjoy
books. Please encourage your child to enjoy reading and choose
books that they are interested in. They will share this book
report by reading it in class.
Please remember to use this format for the book report:
Heading 10 points
Title 10 points
Author 10 points
Summary 50 points
Opinion 10 points
Oral Reading of the Book Report 10 points
*15 AR points are required for this second nine weeks. Each
nine weeks this number will increase with the last nine weeks
having 20 AR points required.
