Open House Information

Open House: Thursday, August 11th 3:00 p.m. in our classroom (K9) at Cullman City Primary School

I look forward to seeing all you at the open house! This is a great time to come visit our classroom and tour the school! Please try to read the Parent Kindergarten Information (on this website) beforehand, so that if you have questions, I can clarify for you at open house! Below are a few reminders to make open house a little smoother for you this year!

SUPPLIES:  Parents are encouraged to bring supplies to open house, if possible. The first day is very hectic, so parents are a great help in sorting supplies before the big day! Please mark all supplies with your child's name before your visit. Your child will only need the following things in his/her crayon box: 2-3 sharpened pencils, one 8-count pack of Crayola Crayons, one glue stick (not liquid), one pearl eraser, and a pair of scissors (Friskars are best). The crayon box with these supplies should go in your child's desk. Please sort all other items into the labeled bins for later use. If you do not have a supply list, please check with the school office. Rest mats are available in the school office also. However, you may want to go by early to avoid waiting in line. Beach towels are also fine for resting! If you have questions about supplies,  or if it is financially difficult for you to purchase them at this time, please email me at a.farr@cullmancats.net . I will be glad to work with you on this.

LUNCHES:  Lunches must be prepaid. You may pay them by the day, week, or month. However, it is difficult for children to remember to turn in lunch money daily, so you may want to pay for several in advance. There should be tables set up at the open house to allow you to do this. Envelopes will be provided in your child's yellow folder for lunch money. However, if you want to avoid the lines,  you may prepare an envelope beforehand and leave with me. to turn in for you.  Please mark enevelope with: LUNCH MONEY, your child's name, teacher's name, and the amount enclosed. You will find free and reduced lunch forms in your child's folder also. If you feel you may qualify, please fill out and return asap. You will be notified by th lunchroom if you qualify. However, until notification that you do qualify, your child's lunches must be paid.

FIRST DAY PICK UP FORM:   ALL parents must fill out this form at open house and return to me before leaving. This is for your child's safety. If your child will be picked up by a daycare or extended day, please make contact with them before open house to ensure they will pick up your child, beginning the first day of school
.
HOMEROOM VOLUNTEERS:  A volunteer list will be available in my classroom at open house. If you would like to be homeroom chairman or co-chairman, please email me. This person would be responsible for planning classroom parties and other activities and calling other volunteer parents to send in items or offer help. If you would like to help but feel your schedule doesn't allow time to be a chairman, please sign up under other volu nteers.

CLASSROOM DONATIONS/ WISH LIST:   Due to hard ecomomic times, your classroom donations are needed now, more than ever. You may pay your donation on open house night. Please place your donation in an envelope and mark: CLASSROOM DONATION, your child's name, your name and the amount enclosed. Although I may not have time to receipt your money at the open house, I will be sure to send you a receipt at the close of the first day! You may also see our wish list at open house. These are items needed to keep our classroom running throughout the year. You may take any items you wish from the list and return the items at your convenience. Your donations are much appreciated!

I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT OPEN HOUSE AND TO A GREAT NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
