About Mrs. Farr

I grew up in Cullman, attending Cullman City Schools also. I graduated from
Cullman High School in 1982. I went on to Auburn University where I
graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1986. I moved back to
Cullman that same year and began teaching the Enrichment (gifted) program at
both West and East Elementary schools. The following year I began teaching 5
year olds and loved it! After teaching ten years at West Elementary, the
kindergarten program was moved to the CCPS campus, where I have been ever
since the opening. I am now fast approaching my 25th year of teaching
kindergarten and still loving it!
I am married to Bruce Farr, who is a realtor with Coldwell
Banker Hill Real Estate. We have 3 sons, twins Jesse and Jake, who graduated
this spring from CHS and will be heading to college this fall and Joey who
will be a sophomore at CHS this fall . I am
very proud of the excellence of education the Cullman City System provides
and wouldn't want my children anywhere else! I also feel that, being a parent
myself, has a big influence on how I teach. I strive each day to always treat
each child with the love, patience, and respect that I pray my own children
are given each day by their teachers. We are members of First Baptist Church
in Cullman.

Mission For The Class

Children learn by doing. I believe in a very "hands-on" approach to learning.
My goal is, to not only to help them achieve academically, but also to spark
enthusiasm for learning, which I hope they will carry on with them
throughout their lives. I try to provide a broad range of educational
experiences for students, in an environment which is consistent, nurturing,
and challenging. Kindergartners need a safe place where they can explore,
take risks, experience success, and learn from the challenges they encounter.
I hope that my children think of our class as a "family", where children
learn to respect, love, and share, and to value each member of their class.
