Phonics: This week we will learn the sounds: eigh, tion, sion, and ow as in
snow.
Reading: We are reading the story Honey Bees and the corresponding high
frequency words from the story. There will be a test on Honey Bees and words
on Friday.
Math: We will learn to write the numbers 48-50, count dimes and pennies,
count by tens and twos, follow a recipe and identify one half and one fourth.
There will be a math test on Friday.
Social Studies: This week we will be doing a unit on Thanksgiving, Pilgrims,
and Indians.
Writing: This week we will continue to study the writing of other authors to
give us ideas for our stories as well as begin to publish our own stories.
Homework: Monday-Thursday: read books in homework folder, Honey Bees from
blue book, read word wall word sheet, and complete math sheet. Read at least
30 minutes every night and document this on the reading log. Have your child
read his/her poem to you and sign the back.
