After your child reads their book bag book, simply respond in the reading log
using the Goldilocks method- This book was...too easy,too hard,or just right
for my child.

8 Steps to practicing each spelling word
1) Say the word “thin”
2) Stretch it out “ th i n”
3) Make a blank for each sound ___ __ __
4) Write each sound in each blank th i n
5) Close your eyes and look at it in the back of your eyes ( in other
words picture looking at it with your eyes closed)
6) Write each sound in the air
7) Open your eyes and write it with your 1st grade quality handwriting
8) Tell what the word means. (Lean or slender in form. The opposite of
fat)
