Hi. I am Shanda Barnett and I have been teaching for six years. I have
taught several grade levels including 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th, and 8th. I am also
the Student Council Sponsor here at Haleyville Elementary.
I live in Haleyville and am married to Matt Barnett. We do not have any
children. However, I do have a puppy named Deek. He is a yorkie. He will do
for now. :) I LOVE what I do! These kids are my life! I see them more than my
own family! :)
I LOVE any kind of art and try to incorporate it into my lessons when
time allows. I also think it is important that we consider how our
kids "work" these days . Just about everything they do consist of some sort
of technology. I feel that it is important to incorporate ANY type of
technology whether it be powerpoints, clips, or just sound effects to keep
the student's attention.
I feel that I am very lucky to get to work at such a great school! The
students, faculty, and principals are AWESOME! If you have a question,

I hope that by the time you finish with MY class you will not only have
learned a lot, but will remember all of the fun times we had. I hope that
you are a more positive person and believe in yourself! I want to be one of
the teachers that you will remember when you graduate. I remember the
wonderful teachers that "stuck out" throughout MY years in school. You are
all VERY smart and I am proud of everything you have accomplished. Just
remember, "Whether you think you CAN, or you think you CAN'T, you are
