I am a graduate from Hanceville High School. After finishing 2 years at
Wallace State Community College, I attended The University of Alabama in
Tuscaloosa. There I received my Bachelor degree in Secondary Ed.
Comprehensive
Science (6-12). I am currently working on my Masters in Biological
Sciences from the University of Alabama.
My husband and I have been living in West Point for a little over 9 years
now.
We now have 1 son and 1 daughter. Their names are Lucas and Callie. Lucas
will be 6 years old in Feb. and Callie will be 3 years old in Jan. My husband
is in the Air National Guard and is the pilot for the 117th Air Refueling
Wing
in Birmingham, AL. I had previously taught 6 years at West Point Middle and
now I am excited about my fourth year back at Hanceville High School.
I have also received a Certification in Dance Instruction from Dance
Master's of America, Ch.33 in 1999. For the past 7 years, I was actively
involved in teaching children of all ages tap, jazz, ballet, and
gymnastics. I also have experience as cheer sponsor and dance team sponsor at
West Point School.
It is my mission to create an awareness in my students of the need to be
informed of the developments of science that influence our daily lives and
be able to evaluate these developments. They will be presented with
situations in class that stimulate critical thinking and require higher
order thinking skills to evaluate and determine a solution or possible
solutions to a given question. It is my goal that through these activities,
my students will be better able to become responsible and productive
citizens
in an ever changing global society.
