Getting to know Mrs. Chase-Davis

Hello and welcome! My name is Javonia Chase-Davis, and I am so ecstatic to be
your child's second grade teacher! This is my third year of teaching and it
is such a privilege to have your child in my class. I have been married for a
little over five years to my awesome husband Travis Davis. We have a busy
little boy named Tyveonne (Ty for short) who will be four years old the day
after Christmas. I love God, my family, the color green, candy, and cartoon
frogs!
I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Troy University
in Phenix City, AL. I am currently enrolled in the Master's program at Troy.
Second grade is a time of discovery and excitement, and I am having a
marvelous time teaching this age. I hope to create an environment children
love, one where they feel safe, and where their school days are filled with
wonder and excitement.
My personal philosophy is that every child can learn and should be given
every opportunity to succeed. I will be committed to reaching every child in
my class and enabling each student to become a lifelong learner. Thank you
for entrusting me with your precious child. I am a believer that working
together works. Together, we can make this year a memorable and worthwhile
experience.

My Teaching Philosophy...

My teaching philosophy of education is one that is student- inclusive and
student- centered. My belief is that students should be allowed to have a
part in their own education. I feel that young children are eager to learn
and all that is needed is someone to guide them through their thinking
processes and to be the facilitator of their learning. Teachers should create
an atmosphere that introduces daring, rigorous curriculum which creates many
opportunities for student discovery. I trust that if all of the above
happens, students will become vigorous learners and soar to greater heights
in education.
