FAQFrequently Asked Questions:
What is the easiest way to get a hold of my child's teacher? Our best form of communication is by notes or email. Check you child's homework folder each night . Remind him/her to turn in notes to me at the beginning of the day. I also have email at school efrix@winstonk12.org. When do I return my child's signed papers? Your childs signed papers need to be returned the next school day. I try very hard to send them home each week. However, sometimes that just isn't possible. Therefore, I am making every effort to get them home as soon as possible. May I send extra supplies to share with the class? Most certainly. I usually try to purchase a few things extra, but we ALWAYS run out. So please feel free to send as little or as much as you can. It's always appreciated. Homework amounts will vary for each child. Some children will need to study spelling words more frequently than others. As a general rule, I do not give a lot of home. If students did not finish their work in class, they will have to complete it for homework. When homework is assigned, it is due the very next day in order to get credit for it. From time to time, there will be a Social Studies/ Science project to complete. All visitors must sign in and receive a badge in the office. This is a school policy and is strictly enforced. What do I need to do if my child rides a different bus home? Please send a note explaining which bus number that he/she will need to ride. The child will need this when they get on the bus. If your child needs to go home a different way than their established routine I must have a note. Please don't rely on the child to tell me the information. Sometimes children get confused or forget to tell me until late in the afternoon when I won't have time to confirm the changes. I will do the safest thing for your child...which is whatever you have sent me in writing. If I have not received a note from you telling me that your child has your permission to go home a different way other than his/her normal dismissal, I will send your child home in the already established routine. |
