I have been teaching at Moody Middle School for 9 years, 4 years
in the 6th Grade and 5 in 5th. Before working at Moody Middle School, I
worked at Children's Hospital and Oneonta Elementary School. I have 2
daughters, Hannah and Haley, a husband of 16 years, Wesley, and 2 furry
family members, Zeus and Reese. In June, I was selected to participate in
the process to become a National Board Certified Teacher. I am very excited
about this, and I have a great year planned for our students. When not
teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and participating in
activities at our church.
For every student to gain the desire to become life long learners. In
addition to mastering the skills of 5th Grade, we want our students to see
how much fun it can be to learn new things. We also want our students to
understand how important it is to work hard in school. The organizatinal
skills, study habits, values, and character traits that they establish in
school now will follow them for the rest of their lives. A non-productive
student is more likely to become a non-productive adult. On the other hand,
a student who strives to do the very best in all things will become an adult
who works hard and will be respected and trusted by many. We love them all,
and want only the best for each and every one.
