5th Grade Agenda For Dec. 14 – Dec. 18
The agenda is a tentative schedule for the week.
Language Arts/Reading
Targeted Skills – expository writing and sentence expansion
No DLR this week
Reading- We will be reading AR this week in class. Also this is the last
week to achieve AR goals for the nine weeks, please make sure students are
reading AR every night.
Math AM tests will be given on Fridays. All students must scan at least one
AM Practice on or before Thursday of each week. Please work on these at home
in addition to class time.
Targeted Skills: parts of a circle, symmetry; area and perimeter
Homework: Accelerated Math Practice assignments
Tests: AM test will be printed for Friday
Science- Reviewing 1sts semester information
History
Colonial activities, graphic organizers, Colonial Christmas cards,
Revolution videos, colonial time stories read aloud
Exploratory
Expository writing, computer lab (testing),
practice spelling bee
Announcements
34 Days until Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing (ADAW)!
PARENTS: You might want to check with your child to see if they need any
school supplies like pencils, new folders, paper, etc. and try to get them
over the Christmas Holiday.
Parents: The annual 5th Grade Christmas Breakfast will be Friday, December
18 at 9:00 am. You are invited to come and have breakfast with your child
that morning.
Parents: We will be having our DARE Kick-off Cookout on Friday, January 8.
To prepare for this, we ask each student to bring $5. The money goes toward
the purchase of the food and a thank you gift for Officer Matt. This will be
due Friday, December 18 before we leave for the break.
Parents: We will accept the donation and fee money all year. $25 donation,
$5 technology fee.
