Weekend of February 10: Finish reading and answering the questions for the TIME article you got after your quiz on Friday. Answer these 10 questions on the same sheet of paper as your quickwrite that you did for a warm-up Thursday. Be prepared to discuss your responses on Monday and to turn in your answers on Monday.
February 8: Your chapter 7 quiz has been postponed until Friday. However, you ALSO have a current event due Friday. Take time tonight to study for sections 1 and 2 of chapter 7. Remember that you will have 4 ids on the quiz and 2 map questions that ask you about a person from a specific country on a map. Therefore, you need to know all the countries in Europe as well as where each person we talked about in chapter 7 is from.
February 6: Finish your chapter 8 questions tonight. Remember to ALWAYS answer each question in a complete sentence. Copy and paste the link below to access the online textbook.
Weekend of February 3: Over the weekend, work on your chapter 8 questions. They are due on Tuesday. Next week's schedule is hectic, so find time to work on these this weekend. January 30: Tonight begin reading and studying Chapter 14 of your Complete Idiot's Guide text. You will have a quiz on this chapter on Friday. This is a difficult chapter, so I would suggest taking notes or outlining as you read. Then go back and reread the chapter. Focus on people and places in your reading.
Weekend of January 27: No homework....enjoy it while you can! :)
January 25: Tonight begin working on your current event. You are welcome to choose an article about any country in Europe, and I don't mind if you choose an article that is about America. However, if your article is about America, you MUST write about how it is a global issue.
January 24: Finish reading and annotating Queen Elizabeth's speeches. Come prepared tomorrow to turn in your answers (with direct quotes) and discuss them as well.
January 23: Tonight work on reading and studying both of Queen Elizabeth's speeches. The questions that accompany the reading are due Wednesday. I also expect you to come to class on Wednesday prepared to discuss what type of leader Elizabeth was after reading more about her. Making annotations on the text in the margins will help faciliate this discussion.
Weekend of January 20: Over the weekend, find time to read and study Queen Elizabeth's speeches to have a better understanding about what type of leader she was. Be sure to read all directions on the handout. This assignment is due Wednesday (1/25). I expect thorough and well-prepared responses for each question with quotes incorporated smoothly within your response. The last question on the handout is your opinion; threfore, it is not necessary for you to include a direct quote in this response.
January 18: See homework for January 17.
January 17: Tonight work on your chapter 7 questions. Your answers are due on Friday.
Weekend of January 13: This weekend, study for your chapter 6 quiz on Tuesday. Study your notes and the list of potenial i.d.s as well as your map. Remember that for EVERY i.d. you must be able to answer who?what?when?where?why/how? significance?
January 12: Finish your current event tonight. Remember that if you choose an article on America, the article must be about a global issue.
January 11: See homework for January 10.
January 10: Tonight begin finding a current event article for Friday. Remember that for this week you can find an article about America; however, the subject of the article MUST be a global issue. If you choose an article about America, in your write up you need to argue why the subject matter of the article is a global issue.
January 9: Tonight finish labeling and shading your chapter 6 map. I will take up this assignment tomorrow for a daily grade.
Weekend of January 6: Over the weekend, work on your chapter 6 map assignment. I will take up this assignment for a daily grade on Tuesday.
January 5: Finish your chapter 6 questions tonight. They are due tomorrow.
January 3: Tonight read chapter 16 of your Complete Idiot's Guide book. You will have a quiz on this chapter on Thursday. I recommend taking notes or annotating as you read tonight. Tomorrow night go back and study what you read.

Weekend of December 9: Over the weekend, study for your midterm exam. 2nd period's exam is on Tuesday, and 5th period's exam is on Thursday.
December 8: Current event due tomorrow. Your current event needs to come from Europe. Try to find something interesting...challenge yourselves!
December 7: See homework for December 6.
December 6: You have a current event due on Friday. This current event needs to be from Europe. I am tired of reading how everyone in Europe is bankrupt. I challenge you to find more interesting articles!
December 5: Finish your 5.3 timeline tonight. Remember that I am more concerned with events than dates. Do not focus on making this assignment look good; the purpose of this assignment is to facilitate our discussion of the Reformation tomorrow. You need 10 events on your timeline, along with a one-sentence explanation about why each event is significant. Put these events on a line. Create a visual that looks like a timeline. I will take these up for a grade tomorrow.
Weekend of December 2: Over the weekend, begin working on your timeline for 5.3. Read through chapter 5 section 3 and create a timeline with the important events of the section. For each entry on your timeline, you must explain why the event was significant. You need a minumum of 10 entries on your timeline. This assignment is due on Tuesday.
November 30: Tonight work on the Renaissance online art assignment under the PreAP World History handouts tab. This assignment is due Friday.
November 29: Tonight check to make sure you can access the Renaissance online project under the PreAP World History handouts tab. After opening the PowerPoint, thoroughly read the directions on the first slide. This assignment is due on Friday.
November 28: Wrap up your visual for your project and your Works Cited page. All students need to turn in a Works Cited page and some sort of visual to me tomorrow. If you are using a PowerPoint for your visual, email it to my school account by tomorrow. Check the rubric for all parts of the project, and finally, practice your presentation. Show me you have prepared and put time into this assignment.
Thanksgiving holiday: Over the holiday, finish your chapter 5 projects and prepare for your presentations. ALL projects are due on the Tuesday you get back (11/29), even if you do not present until Wednesday. Check out the handouts tab to get information about the Works Cited page and a rubric for the entire project (I handed these out Friday in class but many of you were absent). Have a enjoyable Thanksgiving!

November 15: Refer to homework for November 14. Print off the directions for how to write a Works Cited page under the handouts section and bring it to class tomorrow for 5 bonus points on a quiz.
November 14: Tonight read chapter 17 of your Idiot's Guide. Your quiz on this chapter will be on Thursday. I would recommend taking notes as you read the chapter and then revisting these notes tomorrow night and Wednesday night. Also continue to work on your research for your important individual in chapter 5. Remember that you need something tangible to turn in to me with your research on it. This could include a Powerpoint, poster, etc. Read over the handout again for other specific details!!! Below are some good websites to visit for research if you have not used these already.

Weekend of November 10: Over the weekend, begin working on your project if you have time. Remember that we will go to the library on Monday so make sure and bring your flash drive, money, or other supplies you might need. Have a safe, long, and relaxing Veterans Day!
November 9: Tonight prepare for the essay portion of your test tomorrow. You may bring in an introduction, but ONLY an introduction. Remember that you will only have 45 minutes to write two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so come ready.
November 8: Your multiple choice portion of your Unit I test is tomorrow!!! Make sure you know the main idea/importance of each term on your handout. Also go ahead and start planning for the essay portion of the test on Thursday.
November 7: Tonight study and preapre for your Unit 1 test on Wednesday and Thursday. Please note that I have changed the requirements for the in-class essay portion of the test. You are only required to write TWO body paragraphs instead of three. Please plan for this essay. Remember that you can bring in an introduction on Thursday. *If you are in my 2nd period class, please don't forget to report to M-1 on the senior hall tomorrow.

Weekend of November 4: Over the weekend, finish your chapter 5 questions. These are due on Monday. It would also be wise of you to begin preparing for your Unit I test next Wednesday and Thursday. Look over the list of terms I gave you, studying the main idea we discussed about each one. Be brainstorming for your essay portion of the test. Remember that you ARE ALLOWED to bring in an introduction for the essay next Thursday.
November 3: Finish working on your current event tonight. Your current event can be about any country in central or South America. It could also be about England, France, or any other areas in Europe we discussed in chapter 4. Finally, study for your chapter 4 quiz tomorrow (including your map). There will be three i.d. questions and four map questions.
November 2: Tonight study for your chapter 4 quiz (including the map) and work on your current event. Your chapter 4 quiz has been postponed until Friday, BUT your current event is due on Friday as well.
November 1: Tonight begin studying for your chapter 4 quiz on Thursday. I would advise you to review both your notes AND the textbook AND your Complete Idiot's Guide book.
