February 29: I have postponed your due date for your note cards and source
cards to Friday. This means that you will have one more day in class tomorrow
to work on your cards. So, beginning tonight, pace yourself and figure out
how many cards you need to get done tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night so
that you can reach your goal of 25 by Friday.
February 28: Tonight first complete your work for Romeo and Juliet. Your Act
II questions are due tomorrow, and you will also have a quiz on Act II
tomorrow. Also find time tonight to complete a few more note cards. Tomorrow
is the last day in class I am giving you to work on this assignment. 25 note
cards and 3 source cards are due on Thursday and will be counted as a writing
grade.
February 27: Work on your note cards and source cards tonight. I am taking up
25 note cards and 3 source cards on Thursday for a writing grade. Remember
that you only have one other day in class to work on this assignment
(Wednesday), so you must find time at home this week to work on this
assignment.
Weekend of February 24: On Monday you MUST have a minumum of three sources to
work with in class. I have decided to give you two days in class next week to
work on your note cards, so come prepared on Monday and Wednesday. While you
must have a minumum of three sources, you may need more for all three of your
paragraphs. Over the weekend, I would take the time to get your sources in
order and make sure you have all the information you need. Start hilighting
your sources to pick out what you can put on your note cards on Monday.
February 23: See homework for February 22.
February 22: Today most of you had success finding one article in the
library. I would encourage you to spend time the next few nights looking over
your articles you find during the day and hilighting useful information in
them. This way, you will be more prepared to take notes from the source.
Remember that you only have three days in the library, so priority number 1
is getting your three necessary sources and printing/copying them. You MUST
have copies of your three sources in class by Monday.
February 21: Have all necessary research materials tomorrow in class. It
would also be wise to bring change and/or a flash drive for the trip to the
library so you can start printing your sources.
February 20: Start to gather your materials for the research paper tonight
and tomorrow night. You need both sizes of note cards, an envelope, and a
flashdrive/change in class by Wednesday.
February 17: No homework over the weekend. BUT, if you have a chance to catch
the play this weekend, please go. There is a show on Friday night, two on
Saturday, and two on Sunday. If you choose to write a review of what you saw
for extra credit, be mindful that I will only take extra credit assignments
until next Wednesday.
February 16: No homework tonight but remember that Romeo and Juliet opens
TONIGHT at PHS. It only runs this weekend. You can go to the play for extra
credit or write a review to substitute for your reading project for the play.
Be sure to save your ticket and program from the show. It would also be wise
to sit down and write your review soon after you see the show while it is
still fresh in your mind. If you want extra credit, your review must be one
page double spaced. If you want to substitute a review for your creative
project (details to come later), your review must be 2 pages.
February 15: Remember to get your research handout signed tonight for an easy
daily grade. Be prepared to turn in this signed handout tomorrow.
February 14: No homework :)
Weekend of February 10: Your Romeo and Juliet Act I questions are due
Tuesday, and you will have a quiz on Act I on Tuesday as well. Find time over
the weekend to work on reading and answering these questions.
February 8: The final copy of your Great Expectations paper is due tomorrow.
Read through your essay and skim over your rubric one more time to make
necessary changes. This is your first major writing grade of the semester, so
it is imperative you spend time improving your paper.
February 6: Work on the final copy of your Great Expectations paper for the
next three nights. There is ALWAYS something you can do to improve your
writing. Take the time to go back and read your paper out loud. Also take
time to check your paper with your rubric. Make changes tonight and then go
back and reread your paper again tomorrow night with fresh eyes. The final
draft of this paper is due on Thursday.
Weekend of February 3: Over the weekend, finish reading pages 890-891 in your
textbook and writing your eight sentence summary of what you read. This
assignment is due Monday. Remember that your summary must reflect the
information in your textbook. If your summary includes information from any
other source besides your textbook, you will receive a 0 on the assignment.
Below is the link to get to the online version of your textbook.
