My name is Kristi Buckner Cook. I have been teaching school for 12 years, in
the Autauga County School System, 8 years in kindergarten and 4 years in 2nd
grade. My first nine years of teaching were at Pine Level Elementary School,
the remaining have been at Prattville Primary. I have lived in Prattville
all my life. After graduating from Prattville High School in 1993 (Go
Lions!), I attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!)graduating in 1997
with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I completed
Auburn University in Montgomery in 2006 with a Masters degree in
Early Childhood. My husband, Clay Cook, is also from Prattville. We have two
boys, ages 10 and 8. We also have two Labs, one Yorkie, a cat, several goats
and some cows. Our parents, Buddy and Linda Buckner and Barbara and
Wayne Cook also live in Prattville. In our free time, we enjoy working on
the farm and going to the river.
My mission for this class is to provide each child with a loving and safe
environment to learn. I will teach lessons in a variety of ways to reach
each child's learning style. Students will have the opportunity to build on
their strengths as well as learn and practice new skills. It is my goal for
students to leave my class prepared academically, socially and emotionally
for third grade.
