Prattville Primary School library houses about 14,000 books for
approximately 680 students. The books are chosen to appeal to a wide range
of reading interests and levels. About 75% of the collection are Accelerated
Reader titles with accompanying quizzes. Students can find a wide assortment
of interesting books within their own personal comfort zone of reading
levels. Our nonfiction area supports and enhances the science and social
studies units of the school system; but also offers students the chance to
read about their own interests. Students may learn how to perform magic,
fold origami figures, improve their skills in football, basketball, dance,
gymnastics or many other sports. Students can read about other cultures as
well as the ones familar to them. Biographies introduce students to people
who may be admired or perhaps misunderstood.
