Students must read their AR book 3 times before taking a test on it (except

chapter books). Please remember to sign your child's AR folder when

they have read a book to you at home and are ready to take a test on it.

Each day they are given the opportunity to read a book silently or with a

partner. Many of them utilize this time wisely and take a test independently during this time.

Students will receive free pizza coupons for passing 10 AR tests in a month that is indicated in their AR folder and having an average higher than 85%! Our class sets a goal for books read each week. It will begin the second nine weeks with 2 books with an average of 85% or higher. If your child meets this goal, they will receive a "skip an assignment coupon" at the end of the week. Each week our class goal will change. For the 4th nine weeks, the class set a goal of 7 books in a week to get the "skip coupon". As of April 20th, we increased the weekly goal to 10 tests for our classroom!!!

Everytime your child makes a 100 on a test, they are allowed to have a skittles or M&M. Thanks to everyone that sent in those treats!

AR began schoolwide the second nine weeks. Starting second nine weeks, they are required to test weekly. Each child will be given an individual reading goal. If they meet their goal each nine weeks, they will qualify for a prize! Their goal will change based on the STAR test results.
