Bellwork List

Although these will not be the bellwork prompts in their entirety,m you will be able to recreate the meaning:

10/26 Copy the following definition:  A narrator is a person or a character who tells a story.  Some narrators can be trusted; other narrators cannot be trusted.

10/4 AFTER observing a short video, you will construct two sentences.  Both sentences will be about the video, but I do not mind which order you construct them in.  As long as you show an example of both, you must write a compound sentence and a complex sentence.

10/3 AWUBIS WORDS after, although, as, as if, as long as, as though, when, whenever, where, whereas, while, unless, until, because, before, if, if only, in order that, since, so that, wherever

10/3 When you begin a sentences with an AWUBIS word, it will NEVER be a complete sentence!  Because you must always have a complete thought, AWUBIS words at the beginning of sentences do not allow that to happen!  While you may think it sounds complete, an AWUBIS word can never begin a sentence.  After you begin with an AWUBIS word, you must use a comma and then make sure you use a complete sentence after the comma!

9/30 We will be viewing a video shortly, but first, you must prepare your bell work paper with the correct day and date.  Today you will again formulate (create) a compound sentence; you may choose which type you would like to compose.  P.S. I hope you noticed I used both types of compound sentences as examples.

9/29 For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So (FANBOY) You can write a compound sentence, but you have to use a FANBOY word correctly.  Compound sentences are easy, so why don't you give it a try!

9/28 Complete the following sentence stem:  Although the boy's father stole the ham, I believe                    p.s. This is a complex sentence.

9/27 Formulate (create) a compound sentence; use grades in one part and articles in the other.  Hint:  Remember the stick figure man.
