We are working hard on our skills, and we will be moving faster in the
area of skills second semester. I will also expect the children to begin to
work more independently in order to begin getting ready for first grade. It
will be easy for your child to fall behind if things they need a little help
with are not gone over at home as well as in the classroom.
I will be testing third one weeks skills this week. Progress reports will go home on Wednesday,
February 8th.
Our Valentine's Day party will be on Friday, February 10th at 2:00. Each child needs to bring
Valentine's for the class. Please be sure to write who the valentine is to and who it is from. I have
sent a class list home with everyone's name.
Your child will also need sometng to put their Valentine's in. This can be a decorated shoebox or
cereal box or even a plastic container that you can purchase at Wal Mart. Please send these to
school by Wednesday, February 8th. If you have any questions please let me now!!
When you see your child's guided reading bag come home, please have them
read to you. There is a reference page that talks about strategies that we
are working on or will be working on. I hope you enjoy listening to your
child read!!
