Homework

Homework will be sent home on Monday.  Please return homework on Friday with 
parent/guarding signature.  Each time a student returns their homework, they 
will receive a sticker on their inventive chart.  Once they get 5 stickers, 
they will get a treasure from the treasure chest.

Here is a list of skills that will need to be mastered throughout the year:

FIRST NINE WEEKS SKILLS TO BE MASTERED:
Identifies and produces rhyming words
Reads the following sight words:  I a see go  me
Recognizes uppercase letters
Describes directional terms:  above, behind, below, beside, in front of, 
 between
Counts to answer how many 0-10
Sorts objects by:  shape, color, size
Names and Identifies 2-D shapes:  circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon

SECOND NINE WEEKS:  
Reads the following sight words:  is, the, can , like, to
Recognizes lowercase letters
Arranges pictures in proper sequence
Rote counts to 20
Counting on from a given number less than 20
Count and assigns numerals to sets 0-10
Given a set of objects, identifies more, less and same
Uses up to 5 objects to solve story problems with addition and subtraction
Write numerals 0-10


THIRD NINE WEEKS:
Recognizes color words
Identifies and produces all consonant letters
Reads the following sight words:  we, he, she, will, and
Rote counts to 50
Counts and assigns numerals to sets 11-20
Given numerals between 0-10 indentifies more, less and same
Uses up to 10 objects to solve story problems with addition and subtraction
Names and identifies 3-D shapes: sphere, cone, cube, cylinder


FOURTH NINE WEEKS:
Spells words phonetically
Writes a simple sentence using capitals, spacing and punctuation
Reads the following sight words:  it, my, you, not, in
Counts on from a given number less than 100
Skip counts by 10 to 100
Decomposes numbers 11-19 using place value
Fluently add and subtract within 5
Writes numbers in order 0-20
