PERS. Speech Step Sheet

Persuasion Speech Step Sheet

*1. Pick a topic that goes against how you feel & get it approved by Ms. Wilson. --

DUE MARCH 28

*2. Copy the blank Persuasion Outline to a Word document

*3. Find 5 Internet sources that support your position and that answer:

  • How big is the problem                     
  • How bad is the problem
  • How long is the problem
  • Whose fault is it

*4. Save cool pictures you find on the Internet 

·        Right-click on the picture and choose “Save picture as”

·        Put it in your H drive

*5. Save your research (you may print 5 pages maximum; each additional page costs 10 cents)

*6. Read your research (you may email it yourself at home instead of printing)

*7. Create a rough draft outline

*8. Evaluate your plan: a.) CAN we do it and b.) Will it HELP solve the problem

*9. Hand in your rough draft for a grade -- DUE APRIL 8

*10. Create a PowerPoint presentation with a minimum of 5 slides based on your rough draft

            Type all text first

            Fill out your graph

            Insert pictures from the Internet

            Then, ONLY THEN, select colors, backgrounds, & effects

*11. Revise rough draft into final outline (be sure to build your 5 website citations into your outline!)

*12. Type up a Bibliography and hand it in for a grade -- DUE APRIL 16

*13. Rehearse your speech.  Ask your parents challenge your case. 

*14. Review the logical fallacies the class will use during the rebuttal portion of your speech

*15. Present your speech -- DUE APRIL 21
