PROCEDURES

ABSENCES:  You are responsible for your work.  If you miss, be sure to get the assignments from the previous day(s).  Assignments must be completed within one school day.  You have one week to schedule and take your make-up test before it becomes a zero.

ACCELERATED READER:  Your AR points are due every nine weeks.  You must always have a book to read every day.  AR books are read the first ten minutes of each English class and the first fifteen minutes of third period.  You must keep and update a reading log.  Your log sheet will be check randomly for a grade.  You cannot take an AR test without your reading log filled out.  You may not go to the library for a new book unless you show your AR log sheet signed by me or you have your TOPS report.

ASSIGNMENTS:  Homework and all assignments are due at the beginning of class.  Homework is checked during the first ten minutes of class during AR.  Please be sure to have your homework out and ready to be checked.  There is no late work accepted.  All essays and projects are due when you walk into class on the due date.  They are to be placed in the folder for your class period.  Please have the grade sheet stapled to your essay or project and your name on it when you walk in the room.

BOOK REPORTS:  Each quarter you will have a book report due from an AR book you have read.  Formats for the book report will be handed out one to two weeks ahead of the due date.  Plagiarism will earn a zero and a referral.

TARDY:  You must be prepared to begin class when the tardy bell is finished.  This means you are in your seat with your assignment, AR book and notebook open to your homework before the last bell.  If you arrive after the late bell rings, you will be sent to sweep.
