a)       To identify literary elements in a story across media (film)

b)       Analyze culturally or historically significant literary works of American literature that reflect our major literary periods and traditions

c)       Evaluate the author’s use of literary elements:  theme, characterization, conflict, and motivation

2. Method: Watch The Last of the Mohicans film

A)      Objective: Write a multi-paragraph essay that:

a.       includes background information to set up the thesis

b.       states a thesis with a narrow focus

c.       includes evidence in support of a thesis (hypothesis, essential question) in the form of details, facts, examples, or reasons

d.       includes a topic sentence for each body paragraph

e.       includes relevant factors and variables that need to be considered

f.         includes an effective conclusion

b.       Write the rough draft.
