About Candyce Matlosz

I was born and raised in Montana. I moved to the Southwest to teach middle
school language arts and reading. After teaching for ten years in New Mexico,
my husband and I moved to Mesa, Arizona. We both teach at Apache Junction High
School. We have two cats who keep us company at home.

I am currently teaching Enriched English 9 and regular English 11 classes. I
recently earned my Masters in Reading from Grand Canyon University. Part of my
goal as an educator is to apply the research-based teaching practices I
learned about while studying for my latest degree.

If I am not in the classroom, I might be found on the volleyball court where I
coach the freshmen girls volleyball team. This is my ninth year with the
Apache Junction volleyball program although I have been coaching volleyball
for 21 years. I enjoy the opportunity to coach girls and instill positive
sportsmanship and teamwork as well as athlete skills.

Mission For The Class

Whether you are a ninth grade enriched English student or an eleventh grade

broaden your vision of your world.

I am always willing to help anyone who asks. If you do not understand
something or need a special request, please feel welcome to approach me on the
side to gain my assistance.
