During the school year, we will study physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, and biology.

 

Grades:

 

Your grade in this class will be determined by weighting the various types of work as follows:

 

                                                Homework/Classwork             30%

                                                Tests/Quizzes                           40%

                                                Projects                                   10%

                                                Final Exam                               20%

                                                                                              100%

 

Assignments:

 

Please follow these guidelines for all work:

 

  • Use a full sheet of paper (white only).
  • Use pencil or blue or black ink.
  • Your full name, class hour, and date should appear in the upper left hand corner of the paper.

 

Make up work:

 

You are responsible for making up missed work. You have 1 day for each day missed to make up work. After that time, all missed work will be recorded as a zero grade. You will have 3 days to make up a test. Make up tests will be completed before or after school within 3 days of your return to school. All homework must be handed into the sweep monitor the hour you are in sweep. Attendance in sweep on a test day will result in a zero grade, so please hurry to class.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Supplies:

  • Supply of notebook paper, college ruled
  • Supply of pencils and black pens
  • Mechanical pencil sharpener
  • Scientific calculator
  • Personal AR reading book

 

General Rules:

 

Please

  • Be on time and prepared for class.
  • Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
  • Keep electronic entertainment devices and cell phones turned off and out of sight.
  • Hats may not be worn in the classroom.
  • Stay in your seat unless directed to another area.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the classroom (only water)--dispose of all food and drink before entering the classroom.
  • Work on only science class work during science class.
  • Allow the teacher to teach and the students to learn.

 

If you choose not to follow a classroom or school rule, you will face the following consequences:

Parent or guardian phone call or letter
