On Friday the 27th of Feb., we made brochures on how each of the following
gained their independence or home rule from England: Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, and Ireland. THe brochure will be completed on Monday in class. They
are to list interesting facts, define dominion and home rule, add some kind
of artwork, and summarize English immigration's effect on the countries
mentined. Tuesday, March 2nd, the class will begin American Independence.
Pages 289-292 will be read and the assignment will be for the students to
write a short synopsis on the U.S. before the Civil War, after the Civil War,
and during the Civil War.
Wednesday the 3rd the class will begin Progress in the 19th Century. Groups
of 4 will work on posters to depict the advances made during that time.
Presentations will be made on Thursday the 4th. Posters will include:
INventions, famous people, the progress the country makes, and the
improvement in the economy.
Friday Chapter 10 review from pages 300-301, jeopardy, and the use of the
white slate boards will be used to reexamine terminology. Review and Test on
Monday.
