This is my 12th year teaching in the Gifted program in Chandler USD, where I have taught 3rd
through 6th grade at four different schools. Before moving to Arizona, I taught 4th and 5th grade
in Torrance, CA. I have been in education for over twenty years. Besides classroom teaching, I have
taught at two universities, supervised student teachers, mentored beginning teachers, given
workshops for teachers and parents in neighboring districts and at conferences, and served as a
District Gifted Program Coordinator. I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education, Gifted
and ELL Endorsements.
I have two gifted sons who also attended Chandler schools. My oldest is a freshman at ASU at the
Barrett's Honor College. I am also attending ASU working on my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction,
with an emphasis in Gifted Studies. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, crafts,
and Broadway musicals. I collect Winnie the Pooh items and you will find my classroom, house, and
car littered with items. I live and am involved in the Chandler community with my husband,
children, and two dogs: a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Draco and a Beagle named Diesel.

my students develop the desire and skills to be life long learners.
