What is AR?
AR stands for Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader is a supplemental program to our reading curriculum. Students are given goals based on individual ability in areas of percentage correct, points achieved, and book level. Students take comprehension tests on books that they read and earn points for passing scores. Each quarter new goals are set. Students receive immediate feedback, and teachers are able to easily monitor progress and offer intervention when necessary. Having goals gives students an incentive to reach above their comfort levels and push themselves to go above and beyond. (see more information under the accelerated reader navigation link)Back to Top
