What are the classroom expectations?
“Pinky”= trust/honesty TO EARN SOMEONE'S TRUST A PERSON NEEDS TO
BE HONEST (RESPECTFULLY)
“Ring Finger”= Commitment TO SHOW YOU ARE COMMITTED TO CLASS YOU
NEED TO BRING ALL CLASS MATERIALS AND HOMEWORK ON TIME EVERY DAY!!
“Middle Finger”= RESPECT THE TEACHER AND ALL CLASSMATES, BULLYING
WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
“Pointer”= Safety ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE AND PASS,
WITH 100%, A SAFETY EXAM THAT WILL HELP THEM PREPARE FOR LAB
EXERCISES. PROPER LAB BEHAVIOR WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
“Thumb”= Positivity WE WILL ALL WORK TO UNDERSTAND IF SOMEONE IS
HAVING A "BAD DAY" AND EITHER TRY TO "MAKE THEIR DAY" OR SIMPLY
GIVE THEM SOME SPACE.:)

What should I do if I am ABSENT?
1. Check the "Homework" LINK on this site-BEST CHOICE
2. Check the file folder with missing work according to the day
of the week.BEST CHOICE
3. Ask the teacher- who will refer you to the file folder at the
front of class.
4. Ask a friend/classmate- this is not always a reliable source
but sometimes is useful
Is gum allowed in class?
No. And there are consequences that many find VERY GROSS!
1st violation- SPIT IT OUT + GUM STATEMENTS
2nd violation- Spit it out, gum statements, and BELOW
Violators will be required to place eye goggles and safety gloves
on to remove gum from classrom tables/desks in other classrooms.
How do I make-up a lab or test?
Sometimes there is time in class.
Most of the time it requires a student to come in AT LUNCH or
AFTER SCHOOL
What do I do if I don't understand an assignment or need extra help?
1. Come in for FREE HOMEWORK HELP- Mondays 2:30 till 4:30 (or
when finished)
2. Get a LUNCH PASS for tutoring
3. Come in after-school, when pre-arranged with Mrs. L
Will there be any field trips?
There are several reward field trips for those students that
perform well academically and behaviorally in class.
Tenative plans
6th advanced- High school weather station, Botanical gardens, TEP
plant
7th- Previous trips have included: Kitt Peak, Colossal Cave.
Additional trip ideas: Flandrau Science Center, Mirror lab,
Kartchner Caverns, Mt. Lemmon Observatory
What is the procedure for leaving the class to get a drink, visit the restroom, or see the nurse?
DRINK/RESTROOM
1. Go before you get to class
2. Emergency- sign out and bring your planner
NURSE
1. Notify teacher, except in emergencies
2. Fill out blue pass to bring with you
What will happen if I do not have my homework assignment ready for the teacher before entering class?
An AFTER-SCHOOL STUDY HALL will be assigned
Make sure that, if you have questions about an assignment, you at
least ATTEMPT to complete it.
Most times- work is allowed to be corrected during a LUNCH or
AFTER-SCHOOL tutoring session with MRS.L
