General Information:
School begins at 7:30 a.m. and dismissal time is at 2:10 p.m.
In the mornings, children are to go to the playground until the
bell rings/whistle blows. *Please be sure to check with the office
regarding new pick-up/drop-off information. Parent pick-up is at
1:50. The children that ride the bus, go to LINK, or are sibling
pickup stay in the classroom until 2:10. There is a designated
area for sibling pickup located by the cafeteria. I walk them to
sibling pickup as well as to the buses. LINK will come to the
classroom. Please note: if your child takes the bus, it is your
responsibility to let me know what their bus # is. There will also
need to be an adult present when your child is dropped off at the
bus stop.
Lunch:
Lunch is from 10:50-11:30. School lunch cost including milk is
$1.75. If you just want to buy milk alone it is $.30. (We also
serve breakfast which is $.75). If you would like to pay upfront
via a check, please make the check out to Anza Trail Cafe.
Schedules:
For any additional activities such as open house, conferences,
book fairs, field trips, and parties will be sent home as the
information comes in. You may also find information in the weekly
newletters or in the ABC's of Anza Trail. Our weekly specials are
Computers, Library, Music and P.E. Please look at the schedule
link for the days of each special.
Birthdays:
Birthdays are special occasions for young children. If your child
wishes, he or she may bring a store bought treat for the class.
Please see me to make arrangements.
Newsletters/Communication Binders:
Communication Binders will go home on Friday. I will include
information on what we have learned that week, the objectives for
the following week and will also include any important
information from the school or class. Please return the
Communication Binder by Thursday of every week.
Homework:
Homework packets will go home at the beginning of the month.
Please return them at the end of the month. It is important to
read with your child. I will also attach a reading log. If you
fill it out your child will receive a pizza coupon for Pizza Hut.
The students will also have a sharing day that is part of their
homework. Every week they will have a theme and are encouraged to
bring in something to share.
Please note: the homework and sharing assignments are part of
their progress report.
Supplies:
The supply list will be used as community in the classroom. I
assure you that every child will have similar items so there
shouldn't be any problems. There is also a Supply List feature on
this website, so please check that. I will also send home a list
of supplies that we are low on in the weekly newsletter. Every
child is encouraged to bring in a ½” white 3 ring view binder for
the Communication Binders.
Snack:
We will have a snack time each day as a class. I encourage you to
donate snack items to the class. Snacks need to be healthy and
ready to eat. Please no chocolate or candy.
Water:
I do have a sink and water fountain in my room. Your child may
bring a water bottle to school. Please be sure that their name is
written on the water bottle.
Please note: I prefer that they have only water; nothing added to
the water (kool-aid, crystal light, etc.)
Classroom Management:
I will go into further detail about my classroom management plan
at Open House. Just to let you know: I use a behavior chart in my
classroom every day. The chart consists of 4 colored cards: every
child begins the day on green. Yellow is a warning, Orange is a
time out, and a Red card will result in loss of a recess or
note/phone call home. If the child stays on green all day, they
will get a sticker for the day. If a child has 4-5 stickers for
the week, they will be able to pick a prize from the treasure box.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
Email is the best way of getting a hold of me during the day.
