I am going into my 11th year as a teacher at Blue Ridge Mid School. My first
eight were as a 6th grade teacher. I felt that I was ready for a change and
some new and different experiences, so when the opportunity came up to move
to 4th grade I grabbed it. My first two years at this level was very
rewarding
and enjoyable so here I am again.
Prior to going into education, I worked for Safeway for 17+ years in the
areas of night stocking, produce and management in both Show Low and
Pinetop.I and my family have lived in Show Low for 25 years. Before moving
to "the mountain" I spent three years as a police officer in Phoenix. My
wife works for the Show Low School District as Technology Director. I have
two children. My son graduated from Show Low High, spent four years in the
Navy and is now a programmer for APS in the valley. My daughter is also a
graduate of Show Low High and is preparing to attend NPC this year and is
considering a future in teaching.
My personal activities lie mostly in the outdoors. I enjoy golfing, fishing,
hunting, and outdoor photography. I think the last three are a result of the
relaxation I get out of camping and just being out in the woods.(Or desert
when it's not too hot.)
Note to Parents/Guardians: If you have any questions, concerns or important
information please feel free to call or e-mail me. I would prefer that
unless it is an emergency, that you call before or after school.Interuptions
during class take valuable learning time away from the entire class. I also
check my e-mail regularly and will respond as soon as is practical. All you
have to do is click on the mail box on my home page.If that does not work
due to your particular e-mail, the address is (pgalbreath@brusd.k12.az.us).
My mission is to provide a safe and cooperative classroom environment
where we can explore and learn together as a team. A classroom where
we can accept that there are personal differences and where we can use those
difference to learn and grow. To foster an environment where we don't
ridicule our fellow students but are able to give and receive constructive
help. Where we all help each other reguardless of personal
differences. A lot to ask for? NO! I know we can do it together.
Let's have fun learning and make it a great year!
