Where does my child go in the morning before class?

Students will line up outside our door, Room A8. I will open the
door right before 9:00 for children to enter.

Where do I pick up my child after school?

You may pick up your child in two locations.

If you wish to park in the North Parking lot and walk to our
classroom (A8) you may pick up your child as we exit the
classroom. Please be at our door by 2:25.

Another option is the drive-through pick up. Cars
will line up on Medina near the school. We will walk the
children to your car and you may pick them up there at 2:30.

What supplies does my child need?

A full size backpack is very useful to help your child carry
items home. Our classroom could always use baby wipes, facial
tissues, and baggies. Occasionally we may ask for donations when
we have parties or special activities. I'll send a note home
when the time comes for those items.

When is lunch time?

Our lunch is from 11:15-11:55. Students may buy lunch for $1.75
or bring a lunch from home. If your child will buy lunch, the
easiest way is to purchase a lunch card. You may buy one in the
cafeteria before school begins. This helps us move through the
lunch line quickly. After your child finishes eating, they will
go outside to the fenced playground near the A building. There
will be playground aides supervising them during this time.
Students must wear shoes with straps around the ankle- sorry, no
flip flops at recess. This is a safety rule at Eagleridge.

Is there a snack time?

Yes, we have a class snack at 10 each morning. Each child takes
a turn providing a small, healthy snack for the class in our
class snack bag. This means that each child will have 3 or 4
turns during the school year to share his/her favorite snack.

May I help out in the classroom?

Of course! I would love to have parent volunteers after the
first few weeks of school. These weeks allow time to establish
routines, discuss positive behavior, and get to know one
another. Be sure to let me know if you are interested in
volunteering.

Can I bring treats to celebrate my child's birthday?

Yes. Please make prior arrangements with me regarding the date
and a convenient time. I usually try to celebrate birthdays
towards the end of the day. Mesa Schools requires all treats to
be store bought.

Should I send a water bottle with my child?

Yes! Our brains need lots of water to function properly. I will
encourage children to drink water throughout the day, especially
during our warm months. If your child does not bring a water
bottle, we do have a drinking fountain in class. One trick... a
sock around an icy water bottle absorbs the condensation and
keeps our tables free of water.
