When is the Spelling test?

All Spelling Tests are given on Friday in the  4th grade

What is a Walkerdale Diamondback?

When a student in Walkerdale does not flip his/her marker for 4 
weeks in a 
row, they earn the right to go on a walking lunch fieldtrip with 
Mrs. Walker-
Stephenson. We refer to the students who earn this right as a 
" Walkerdale 
Diamondback"

What is a Walkerdale Whiz Kid?

We begin our studies of the multiplication tables in September. 
We encourage 
each student to study the tables as we go along. Each day we give 
a times 
test over the tables that we are studying. We begin with the 0's 
and give 
just one test on this easy table. This "0" table just 
takes one day for the 
class to cover. 

The next day we learn about the 1's times tables. We test the 
students on the 1's. Each student must pass 3 tests on the 1's to 
earn a 
certificate. The students cannot take more than one test per day. 
Each 
student must go through the various times tables' tests and must 
reach the 
12's to qualify for the honor of Whiz Kid. When the student has 
passed all 
of 
the tests up to 12, they receive a certificate and a personalized 
water 
bottle with their name on it and 32 pieces of candy in it. They 
also have 
their name up on a list in the classroom.

4th Grade book Reports

Each month I assign a chapter book to be read by the 
student in their free time. Each month I change the type of 
written response that I want from the student regarding the book 
that they have read.
