How I became a teacher:
Growing up I thought I would be a lawyer. Then my senior year in high school I
decided to take a class called Aspire to Teach instead of another math class.
Aspire to teach led me to working as a paraprofessional at Cortez High School
for 4 years. I tutored Freshmen to Senior students in all types of subjects,
but mostly math and reading.
My Education:
I had to leave Cortez to completed my student teaching at Madison #1. I
completed my bachelors in Elementary Education from Ottawa University. I then
became the permanent sub at Madison #1 during the 2008 spring semester. I
recently completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an
emphasis in Mathematics from University of Phoenix. I currently am scanning
different colleges to decide what my next class will be. I enjoy taking classes!!
My Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. I also love to scrapbook and
make cards for all different occasions.
Teaching:
For 2010/2011 I will teach two sections of 8th grade math and two sections of
7th grade math. This will be my third year teaching math at Madison #1.
Provide a deep and enriching understandings of Mathematics using the Arizona
State Math Standards. Provide a supportive and safe learning environment.
Enhance mathematical strengths and improve mathematical weaknesses. Have fun
while we learn.
