Mrs. McKee's 7th and 8th Grade Science

Currently we are working on Basic Science Process Skills - aka The Scientific Method. So far we've perfected our skills of observing and inferring. Both grades will be performing their first experiment the week of August 22nd. 8th Grade will be working with Gum and 7th grade will work with paper towels. Once we complete our first lab we will continue perfecting our basic science skills with predicting and classifying. Starting this week, students have two regular/recurring assignments each week. Science related current events are due each Friday starting on August 26th. This week I handed out "Building Science Vocabulary" word lists for prefixes, suffixes, and root words related to science. Students will have vocabulary flash cards due on Thursday's followed by vocabulary quizzes on Friday's. We will start with "suffixes" and the first set of flash cards will be due Thursday, September 1st. The first quiz covering suffixes will be given on Friday, September 2nd.
