Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer! I am extremely excited to be your child’s first grade teacher. As a graduate of the Madison Professional Development Program, I feel a special connection to the Madison District. This is my second year teaching at Madison Heights. Prior to coming to Heights, I taught second grade at Madison Rose Lane. I have also interned in a variety of different grade levels including: kindergarten, first, third, fifth grade (ELL classroom), and a fifth grade Science/Social Studies classroom. This valuable experience has given me the opportunity to create lessons aligned to
state standards, use assessments to guide instruction and provide a safe learning environment for all students.
Through my strong education experience, I am ready and motivated to teach and inspire my students. Providing an encouraging and nurturing environment that embraces all students and celebrates diversity is the foundation of my philosophy of education. I hope to instill a love of learning, but more than that, to rouse curiosity. Each child is an important part of my classroom community. My goal is to increase student independence, both academically and socially.I believe that a child's school experience will forever affect their view of school.I am planning my lessons to ensure learning for
all.
