We are currently going through our Balance and Motion kit.
Lesson 1:  Tricky Crayfish - balance a tag board cray fish on the tip of their finger using clothespins as counterweight.

Lesson 2:  Arch and Triangle - balance a tag board arch and triangle on the edge of a craft stick using clothespins as counterweight.

Lesson 3:  Pencil Trick - balance a tag board pencil on the edge of a craft stick using clothespins as counterweight.  They were then given a real pencil, a bendable wire, 2 clothespins to try and balance a real pencil on the craft stick.

Lesson 4:  Tops - The students were give 2 large discs, 2 small discs, a small straw.  They were exploring different ways to make a top to get it to stay in motion as long as possible.

Communities -
Lesson 1 - Community at a school.
Lesson 2 - Living in a Neighborhood.
Lesson 3 - Community Helpers
Lesson 4 - Comparing Communities.
Lesson 5 - Building their own community.
 

In 2nd grade we have 3 units that we study.
Balance and Motion, Air and Weather, and Insects.  We will start the year off with Balance and Motion.
