Ecoscenario Individual Report (7th)

Due Friday September 26, 2008

Students your assignment is to write a 400 word report about an organism out of   your ecoscenario.  You will have 2 weeks to complete the report.  It is expected to be double spaced, typewritten with a cover page, and a reference page at the end in APA format.  The reference page will have 2 different sources.  The margins of the paper should be no more than one inch and the font will be 12 point in Times New Roman.  Conventions will be scored.  Each member of your ecoscenario group must choose a different organism from your ecoscenario.  Your essay should include charts, diagrams and pictures to help explain your discussion of your organism.

The paper will be structured in a 5 paragraph format.  You will have an introductory paragraph which tells what your organism is and discusses some background about the ecosystem (ecoscenario) the organism came from.  Your second paragraph should discuss vital statistics about your organism, as well as, a discussion about its habitat, role and niche within the ecosystem.  Your third paragraph should discuss its energy level within the system and a discussion about the feeding relationship the organism has with other organisms.  Your fourth paragraph should discuss how abiotic factors affect your organisms and also include in this paragraph a discussion about human impact on your organism.  Your final paragraph will be a closing paragraph which summarizes and concludes your discussion about your organism.  A rubric is attached to help you determine the point break down.

Extinct Species to Life Essay (8th)

The paper will be structured in a 5 paragraph format.  You will have an introductory paragraph which tells what your species is and discusses some background about the time frame and area your species came from.  Your second paragraph should discuss vital statistics about your species, as well as, a discussion about the importance it had during the era that it lived.  Your third paragraph should discuss the possibility of bringing extinct species back to life, explaining different methods that could be used, and how far away technology is from reaching this goal.  Your fourth paragraph should discuss your opinion of bringing back an extinct species to life.  Make sure to back up your opinion with reasons as to why you agree or disagree.  Your final paragraph will be a closing paragraph which summarizes and concludes your essay.  A rubric is attached to help you determine the point break down.
