Do you offer extra credit?
Yes, students have multiple opportunities to earn extra credit
throughout the quarter. There is no set number of extra credit
assignments or point given in the quarter. Extra credit is
offered on vocabualry tests in an effort to encourage students to
review previous lists in preparation for review tests. Extra
credit is given for extra work assigned it is NOT intended to
artifically boost a students grade.
How do I know if my child has homework?
Students should have some homework each night. Students will
have a vocabulary quiz each week - students should study and
review vocabulary words each night. Students should also be
working on their reading log throughout the quarter. Additional
assignments and due dates can be found on the homework page.
What does my child do if they are absent?
Attendance is very important, however, if a student does have to
miss a class, it is their responsibilty to make up the work. It is
highly encouraged that stduents come in after school (or during
our newly created character education class with teacher
permission) to get the missed work. It is not always possible to
simply give a student a worksheet or assignment without having the
opportunity to explain what they missed.
How will my child know is he/she has a missing assignment?
Students (and parents) are encouraged to regularly check
PowerSchools to be sure all work has been turned in - this will
help students monitor if they have missing work. In additionally,
they will be given a missing assignment report each Monday. If a
student is absent the day a report is handed out, they should
check PowerSchools.
