February 13-17, 2012 Reading: Students will read various functional texts and identify specific information, understand the structure of functional text, and explain the characteristics of functional texts. Writing: Students will create and write various functional text in the classroom.Math: We will begin a study of the metric system. Students will convert units of measurement using the metric system for mass, length, and capacity.Spelling: The core words for this week are third, quite, carry, distance, and although. The skill set this week will be proofreading. Social Studies/Science: We will finish studying the plant kingdom and test over plant parts and their functions.The class is completely out of Kleenex and glue sticks.
