What's the EASIEST way to communicate with Miss Puuri?
EMAIL! rpuuri@pecschools.org. I check my email every day and often reply right after school.
Email gives me a chance to review your questions and put some time, effort, and research into the answers. I will not always
have an immediate answer for you with phone or face-to-face requests, but I will get back to you as soon as possible with an
answer. Please do not hesitate to stop by or call the room after 3:00 if you prefer to do so.
What do I have to sign and when?
It will be a part of your child's homework to get his/her Agenda signed EVERY SCHOOL DAY, Monday-Friday. Failure to have an Agenda
signature will result in the loss of a homework sticker that day. Additionally, a Friday Folder will be sent home each week, and a
signature must be placed by the appropriate week's box by Monday morning.
When are weekly work and tests sent home?
The Weekly Work Portfolio (Friday Folder) will be sent home every Friday with the previous week's homework and test papers.
Anything that needs to be corrected and returned to school will be marked with a bright pink sticker or in Sharpie marker.
Everything else is yours to keep!
How do I know which assignments have been graded and applied to the Gradebook?
Any assignment that comes home with a PERCENTAGE on it will be put into the Gradebook to be applied to your child's cumulative
quarterly grade. Other assignments with written comments, stamps, stickers, smiley faces... were for target skill practice and were
later assessed formally on a test or project. These assignments do not count for a grade in the Gradebook, but they DO apply
towards your child's "Homework" grade in the Behavior Skills section of the report card.
What's the easiest way to get a progress report in the middle of the quarter?
Grades are posted online, and you can find the parent log-in page on my website's Announcements page or off of the PEC website.
You should have received your user name and password already, but if you have lost it, please contact Jennifer Lindsay by
emailing her at JLindsay@pecschools.org. You can access your child's grades 24-7 at home! Let me know if you have any questions.
Do you have a snack break in 4th grade?
Yes, we will have a designated time set aside each day for a small "working snack" before our lunch at 12:45. It is the individual
student's responsibility to provide a snack for themselves each day - snacks will not be provided by the teacher. Due to allergies and
fairness, students may not share. Appropriate snacks include fruit, granola bars, vegetables, individualized bags of chips/pretzels...
Students will be encouraged to save sugary snacks for after school and desserts for lunch time. Students are to remember that snack
time is a privilege which can be removed if they fail to complete their classwork during our working snack.
