Progress Reports and Conference Letters
Progress Reports and Conference Letters will be sent home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Please have
conference letters returned by Thursday February 2, 2012. Conference Confirmation Notices will be sent
home on Friday February 3, 2012.
Promotion Trip to SeaWorld
The promotion trip has been scheduled for Friday May 18, 2012. The cost of the trip is $75. This trip is
planned and funded outside of the Activity fee for culminating field trips and events. The $75 fee covers
entrance to Sea World, transportation, breakfast, pizza dinner and snacks during the trip. Each student
will need to bring a sack lunch to eat while visiting the park.
We will be selecting chaperones through a lottery in late February and notifying all who were selected so
appropriate arrangements can be made. Please contact Mrs. Sokolowski at ssokolowski@pecschools.org
to indicate your interest in being a chaperone for the Sea World Trip. All chaperones need to have
fingerprinting and clearance to be a chaperone. Please note that this process can take between 5-6
weeks.
Promotion Ceremony Slideshow
At this time, we are asking that each student bring in a picture for the Promotion Ceremony
Slideshow. The picture should be of your child from ages newborn to two years old. Please send pictures
into your student’s first hour teacher no later than March 1, 2012
Important 8th Grade Dates
• February 24, 2012 - Sea Work Chaperone Selection (All chaperones must be fingerprinted,
cleared and pay $75)
• March 1, 2012 - Collage Pictures Due (one picture newborn - 2years of age)
• April 12, 2012 - 8th Grade Promotion Pictures (Cap & Gown pictures taken at PEC)
• May 18, 2012 - 8th Grade Promotion Trip to Sea World!!
• May 22, 2012 - 8th Grade Breakfast and Year Book Signing Party (during school day) Students
will be treated to a complimentary breakfast and be given an opportunity to sign year books,
take photographs, and capture memories.
• May 22, 2012 - 8th Grade Promotion Dance & Dinner, 6:00-8:30 PM. Students will enjoy time
with their peers to dance and dine this evening in the PEC MPR.
• May 23, 2012 - Eigth Grade Promotion Ceremony, 8:00AM-10AM at Radiant Church.
