Can my child take a Spelling test or Reading Vocabulary test when they want?
For the most part YES. Since the class encourages students to work
independently at their own speed, we want to encourage them to have a say in
their learning. However, we want to teach them to understand that they must
choose wisely. They need to know that they must study their words and be
prepared to pass the test. It does no good to just take tests if they are not
ready. Then they are just wasting everyone's time.
What should I do if I have a concern about my child's progess?
Please call if you have any concern about your child? If need be, we can set
up a parent conference for further discussion.

What about bus changes?
Since we a dealing with very young children, I will not allow any child to
change buses without notification from the parent. I need a note telling the

Can you bring snacks for birthdays?
Yes, we take the time to recognize the special occasion. Please make sure
their are enough for all students.
Can my child have a water bottle in class?
Yes, this eases the conjestion at the drinking fountain and allows the child
to drink as often as they want. Please make sure the bottle has a lid or can
be closed to limit spills. Also, label the bottle with your child's name.
Can parents volunteer in my class?
I would love it! Not only are you helping me, but you get to actually see what
we do. This is a great way to become involved first hand in your child's
education. Just let me know.
