My name is Mrs. Mary A. Chernoski and I will be your children’s Social
Studies Teacher this year. For your information, my teaching career spans
over 25 years.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois. My husband, John, and I moved from the
Midwest to New Jersey and lived there for years. We raised a son there,
and our son still resides and teaches in New Jersey. It is truly my honor
to be employed by this fine school distinct
Education was profoundly valued in my family and not taken for
granted. My parents as well as my eldest brother were immigrants to this
great nation and faced many challenges. They impressed upon the rest of us
born here the necessity to work hard, to be prepared to the best of our
abilities, and to never dishonor our family. That’s all that I ask of your
children too. Work hard; be prepared; and be respectful.
Work hard; be prepared; and be respectful. All of these three points are
very important, but the last point is essential to good order and to the
learning process of all. Our classroom is a place where all backgrounds are
respected and our classroom is kept neat and clean because we respect people
and property. We do not disrespect either.
In order to achieve our goals this year, I am asking you, my parent
(s), to become partners with me in the learning process. You will receive
notices home occasionally which must be signed so that I am sure you and
your child are aware of the information. If you ever have a question, I can
