Welcome to Sahuarita Middle School!
As Sahuarita Jaguars we GROWL.
Happy New Year! We will begin the 3rd quarter/ 2nd Semester by reviewing and
taking a test over the human body systems and plant systems on Jan. 7th.
Students have all the notes in their science notebooks. Also due this week,
Wed., is their holiday interviews of play things past and logic/decoding
puzzles. We have practiced strategies used to solve these types of questions
in class. I am looking forward to another great semester with my students.
They are really learning and thinking like scientists!
We continue to collect box tops. Keep clipping and sending
them in!!!

We are in our last 18 days of the 2nd Qtr. We will be finishing up our unit
on the Human body systems. Next we look at systems of plants.
We will also be reviewing classification and adaptation of animals to be
better prepared for a
special visit from the Zoo Mobile.
For the 2009 2010 School year I will be using
an additional webpage. The site is from Quia.com
I am still learning how to utilize this fully.

info about the assignments for the 2nd Qtr.

I hope you are enjoying the fall break.
Students should not empty their files completely.
We are still working on the cell webquest and the
parts of a cell wk pgs 22 &23. Those 2 papers need to
be in their files for the 2nd QTR. Students should
also have their Science notebook with only Science
Cornell notes inside.
***REMINDER: Our school is collecting canned food during
the week that we return. If you would like to donate, please
send items in to me. Thank you!
The end of 1st Qtr is here. Grade reports were sent home with students on
Friday. Please sign and return ASAP. Another 25 points will be assessed on
Wed. this week. This will go into the 1st qtr grade. It is a grade for
showing parents work in their folder and keeping track of their own files and
grades. After midterm students were instructed
to clean out their old papers. We turned over our assignment logs
and start with a new no. 1 See Assignment log tab to see the what
new assignments should be in their folders and grade log.
***Grade print outs will be sent home again in about a week. This will allow
a few days to improve grades if needed as well as for you to
see how they are progressing so far before the grade
becomes final on Oct. 9th.
***Please also review
your child's Science folder and assignment log.
25 pts for all papers in files and brown assignment log complete.
10pts for signature on the brown log
10 pts for your signature on the grade print out.
The file check and signatures will be due on
Tues. Sept. 1st.
