We work in unit packets. The unit packet work is done in class and no
papers are separate from unit packet. All unit packets are due when I finish

notice that unit packets will be collected for grade. EXCUSED Absences are
accomodated ONLY with my approval if those absences took place at the time
of the unit packet due date.

YES! Students may view appropriate and pre-approved history videos which

receive history points during class when they answer or participate

What do I do if I am absent?

All work is done from the unit packet. Packets are given to students when
the unit begins. The packet is kept in the students folder. The folders are
kept in a bin by the door. No folders leave the room. Any work missed would

the assignment sheet (rubric) in the unit packet.

Students have as much time as they need to make up missed work, as long as

If students know they will be absent, they can take the unit packet with
them to work on. Students who are absent when we begin new units will get
their unit packet when they return. Those extra unit packets are available
on the student table next to folder bins.

Why do you go by Ms. Shari?

I have always been known by everyone, including my students from Texas to
Arizona as Ms. Shari. In the South, where I lived, it was customary to refer
to adults as Ms. and Mr. before their first name out of respect. I had a
long last name and I don't know any other name to respond to but Ms. Shari.
It is perfectly acceptable for you to call me Ms. Shari. I do respond to
Ms. Anton, despite the fact that it is my last name and I am very proud of it.
