I have a BA in Sociology/Criminology from Western Washington
University. I received my Masters in Secondary Education at the University
of Phoenix. I was a Deputy Sheriff in Orange County California and have
worked many years in social work and as an educator. I have been teaching
for over 18 years in Texas and in Arizona at the high school level. I am
dedicated to my profession and very excited to have the honor to teach and
make a difference in the lives of young adults. My teaching style is very
positive and prepares students for success in higher learning and life.
Why the name Ms. Shari? I lived in Texas and in the south it
is customary to refer to adults, even teachers, if they allowed, to be referred
to by their first name, as long as Mr.or Ms. was used with the name.
This showed respect. I prefer everyone, including my students, parents
and colleagues to call me Ms. Shari.
