Week of September 28th
Describe your classroom. It may be new to you, or one to which you are
returning. How is it different? Notice all four walls and what is on them. Describe the furniture and
how it is arranged.

Week of October 5th
In September we celebrate Labor Day, a day that honors all hard working
citizens in America. Tell me about the job that you would like to have when you are old enough to
work. You may research the job and describe it, then explain why it interests you.

Week of October 19th
If you are a boy, tell me why you like being a boy. If you are a girl, tell me
why you like being a girl. You may describe yourself and tell me what you really like about yourself.

Week of October 26th
Look around the Montessori classroom. Pick your favorite lesson and
describe it to someone who has not had the lesson before. Be specific. Your paper must have all the
directions of how to complete this lesson. You may include illustrations.

Week of November 2nd
Pretend you an explorer (Columbus, Magellan, etc.). Describe your travels.
Begin with the fact that you had to get ships and money to make your journey. Then you needed a
crew. How did you plan your journey?

Week of November 9th
Describe a place you would like to visit. Think of some of your country
research or the maps you have studied. Begin by telling me how you would get to this location; by
bus, car, boat or airplane. Then describe the sights you see. Pick an exotic location.

Week of November 16th
Research another planet. Then compare and contract the Earth with that
planet; first as it is seen from far away and then specific information about each planet.

Week of November 30th
Describe the best costume you have ever seen. It may be a Halloween
costume, a costume you saw in a movie or TV show, or one you wore in a play. Draw a picture of
this costume and attach it to your description.

Week of December 7th
Take a map of the world. Use a circle about the size of a small coin. Place
it anywhere on the map. Now describe just that location. What would you find if you landed (from a
balloon, plane, helicopter, etc.) in just that spot?

Week of December 14th
How is your weather changing no that it is ten weeks into the school year?
Is there a chill in the air, or do you live in a location that does not change much? Look closely at
your surroundings and notice even little changes, such as flowers that are growing that did not grow
two months ago.
