ABC Music & Me

This 30-minute highly interactive program takes place in the classroom every week.  In ABC Music & Me, the busy brain and non-stop body move, make music, listen, learn and get a multisensory workout!  Benefits of the program include:
  • Integratation of physical, cognitive, social and emotional learning for a whole-child approach to learning
  • Multisensory approach to teach early music concepts such as loud and quiet or high and low
  • Invites children to explore the joy of group learning, practicing social skills such as turn-taking and cooperation
  • Prepares children to practice the listening and attention skills that ensure early school success
Some of the themes available to your child in the Laugh and Learn (pre-K) class are:
  • On the Go - children develop an understanding of vehicles and transportation vocabulary, and learn also about signs and safety
  • Home Sweet Home - explore bath and bedtime routines and investigate animal and human homes
  • Let's Play! - "Follow the Leader" and other playground games improve listening and speaking skills while strengthening movement and hand-eye coordination
  • Outside My Window - stretch imaginations by pretending to be in the rain, snow, and wind.  Make instruments to imitate those sounds
  • Carnival of Music - learn about fairs and circuses.  Play cooperatives games to build social skills, like taking turns and listening to others
  • Animals A-Dancing - Dance, hop, roll and stomp with lovable animal friends while developing muscle coordination and spatial awareness
  • Around The Farm - Strengthen memory and sequence skills with stop-and-go games.  Explore the farm theme by imitating farm sounds and doing fingerplays.
  • Out And About - Build on students natural attraction to the great outdoors.  Take them on imaginary adventures to the mountains and the beach.  Go on bike rides and picnics.
  • Splash! - Children seek and find patterns in threes with water friends.  Move like penguins to a rhyme.
